Since 1997, The Ulster Wildlife Trust has helped distribute over £5,000,000.00 to over 300 worthwhile community and environmental projects across Northern Ireland.
Reintroduction of freshwater pearl mussels into the Upper Bann River
A pioneering conservation project to reintroduce Peal Mussels through restocking of trout ,which have been successfully infected with juvenile Pearl Mussel eggs. The program is long term as these mussels can live for more than a century.

Gracehill Old School Trust
This project involved the restoration of the former primary school built for social, cultural, educational and recreational use.The building is listed as dating from 1765 and is situated in the centre of Gracehill Northern Irelands first conservation area.

Annesley Hall
The cost of refurbishing the Annesley Hall in Newcastle Co. Down was made possible by landfill tax credits.The hall was built in 1891, being an important historic building and listed B1 by the environment and heritage service.

Giant’s Causeway & Bushmills Railway
The reinstatement of the old railway was partly funded through landfill tax credits.The railway now provides a passenger link between the historic town of Bushmills and the famous stone columns of the Giant's Causeway. The railway has been built to the Irish narrow gauge of three feet and runs for two miles along the track bed of the former Giant's Causeway Tram.

Restoration of the Ross Monument
The Ross Monument, a grade A listed monument constructed in granite and is situated outside Rostrevor in an impressive location overlooking Carlingford Lough. Improvements were made to the monument and site to provide a recreational facility and tourist attraction at this location.

Tree Survey Folly Glen
A development survey of mature trees at Folly Glen, Armagh was carried out to ensure public safety.

Lakeside Walk Enniskillen
This project was concerned with upgrading over 800 metres of the lakeside walk path in Enniskillen.New surfacing, drainage, pedestrian access controls and fencing was created.

White-clawed crayfish breeding/reintroduction
The Ballinderry River Enhancement Association ran a programme to reinstate the white-clawed crayfish population of the Ballinderry river system and adjacent Lough Neagh Wetlands.

Lough Neagh Whooper Swan project
This project highlighted the importance of the whooper swans for the enhancement of biodiversity within the Lough Neagh Wetlands. Using transmitters to track the migration and local movement of individual swans between Ireland and Iceland, a number of scientific studies were undertaken.

Glenravel Community Park
A community recreation area was created at Glenravel. This included a multi-sports facility, wetlands habitat and picnic area.
