With election fever mounting, we want to make sure that economic recovery isn’t the only thing on our local candidates’ minds in the forthcoming General Election.
The Trust has therefore written to all 108 local Westminster candidates asking them to tell us how, if elected, they would work to achieve a healthy environment for people and wildlife.
Candidates were asked to consider two key questions:
1. What will you do in office to improve your constituency for wildlife and people?
2. Do you support the use of marine protected areas as the key mechanism to protect the sea both for wildlife and for people?
All the responses received to date are listed in alphabetical order by constituency and then by candidate surname, so that all our supporters have up-to-date information on the environmental credentials of our future public representatives.
