Explore Belfast Parks with Watch this Space!
Welcome to our new web-pages created especially for teachers. We have created a range of activities and games for you and your class to experience when you visit your local park.
We hope that you find this a useful tool which will support and encourage you in continuing to introduce and inspire your pupils to the natural world beyond the classroom!
About the Project
The Watch this Space! is a community engagement project between the Ulster Wildlife Trust and Belfast City Council, encouraging local people to develop their knowledge and appreciation of nature in their local public park.
The pilot year saw Watch this Space! Officers, Siobhan Coyle and Lucille Coates working with schools near both Falls Park (West Belfast) and Woodvale Park (North-West Belfast). Now that funding has been secured for further years, additional schools are exploring other parks in Belfast, including:
- West - Falls Park, Dunville Park
- East - Victoria Park, Belmont Park, Orangefield Park
- North - Woodvale, Glenbank, Glencairn, Ballysillan, The Waterworks
- South-West - Wedderburn
